What 2LDW uses

The application does not set advertising, analytics, login, or summary-view cookies. It does not save pasted transcripts in your browser’s local storage. Summary reads are counted on the server using temporary daily hashes, as explained in our privacy policy.

Analytics storage

Fluxly analytics uses browser storage rather than cookies. It saves a random visitor identifier under fluxly:visitor in local storage and a random session identifier under fluxly:session in session storage. The visitor identifier remains until site storage is cleared; the session identifier uses the browser’s tab-session storage. These identifiers accompany page-view and activity events sent to analytics.fluxly.net.

You can remove the identifiers by clearing this site’s storage. Blocking analytics.fluxly.net prevents analytics requests and does not prevent you from reading summaries.

Security services

Cloudflare protects the site and checks new submissions with Turnstile. Depending on the protection applied to a visit, Cloudflare may use necessary security cookies or browser storage. Turnstile also processes browser and network signals. These checks help prevent automated abuse and are not used by 2LDW to build advertising profiles.

YouTube and other links

Video thumbnails are loaded from YouTube’s image service. Clicking a thumbnail opens a YouTube player in a popup. The player uses YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain and only loads after you click. Playing the video connects your browser to YouTube, whose data and storage policies apply. If you choose to open the video on YouTube, its own cookie and privacy settings apply there too.

Your browser controls

You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking resources used for security may prevent new submissions. You can still read saved summary text without enabling JavaScript.

Extension reminder

Updated extensions signal their presence locally on 2LDW summary and handoff pages to hide the install reminder. This signal reads no page content, stores nothing and makes no network request.

For older releases, a successful handoff saves a timestamp under 2ldw-extension-seen in local storage to hide the reminder for 90 days. It contains no video ID, transcript or personal identifier and is not sent to the server. The updated extension clears it when detected; clearing site storage also removes it.
