2LDW means “too long, didn’t watch.” It turns a YouTube video into a readable set of notes you can return to.

From captions to clarity

Paste a public YouTube link. We retrieve available captions, then use a privately hosted AI model to write a short overview, explain the main ideas, and pull out specific takeaways. Timestamp links point you back to the relevant part of the original video.

A permanent home for the short version

Completed summaries are stored in a database. Each gets a descriptive, permanent URL. Verified caption-based summaries appear in our public library, so useful notes can be found again.

What the summary can miss

A transcript cannot fully describe a chart, demonstration, or silent scene. Automatic captions sometimes mishear words, and AI can misinterpret them. We identify the source on every summary and keep the original video one click away. These summaries are generated automatically and are not presented as human-reviewed reporting.

When captions are unavailable

You can copy the transcript from YouTube and paste it into the form. We label those results as reader-provided and keep them out of the public library and search indexing because we cannot verify their contents against the video.

Respect for the source

2LDW attributes each video to its creator and links to the original. Summaries paraphrase the important ideas; we do not publish full transcripts. This is an independent service and is not affiliated with YouTube or its creators.
